Rural Financial
Counselling Program

Primary producers, fisherman and rural small business support

Rural Financial Counselling Service Tasmania is part of the Federal Government funded Rural Financial Counselling Program. Rural Business Tasmania’s flagship service, Rural Financial Counselling Service Tasmania, provides confidential, independent financial counselling to eligible farmers, fishers, foresters and small related businesses who are experiencing or at risk of financial hardship.

What the service can help with:

  • Farm debt mediation

  • Cash flow forecasting analysis

  • Loan/grant applications

  • Financial negotiations

  • Business plan development

  • Viability analysis

  • Farm exit planning

  • Succession planning

  • Financial literacy

  • Small business advisory service

 

Eligibility:

To be eligible for assistance under the Rural Financial Counselling Service Program you must either be:

Involved directly in primary production as a farmer, fisher, forest grower or harvester

OR

Be the owner of a small rural related enterprise that is primarily involved in supporting the production of farm, fish or forest products.

AND

Be in financial difficulty and have no alternative sources of impartial support.
