Rural Financial Counselling Program
Primary producers, fisherman and rural small business support
Rural Financial Counselling Service Tasmania is part of the Federal Government funded Rural Financial Counselling Program. Rural Business Tasmania’s flagship service, Rural Financial Counselling Service Tasmania, provides confidential, independent financial counselling to eligible farmers, fishers, foresters and small related businesses who are experiencing or at risk of financial hardship.

To be eligible for assistance under the Rural Financial Counselling Service Program you must either be:
Involved directly in primary production as a farmer, fisher, forest grower and harvester
Be the owner of a small rural related enterprise that is primarily involved in supporting the production of farm, fish or forest products.
Be in financial difficulty and have no alternative sources of impartial support.

Regional Small Business Recovery Program (RSBRP)
Australian government funding for the Regional Small Business Support Program Pilot ceased as at the 31st of March 2023.
Due to the change in funding, Rural Business Tasmania will not be taking on new clients from this date onwards.
Assistance from the Australian Government is being made via the Small Business Debt Helpline on 1800 413 828 or www.sbdh.org.au. Tasmanian Government Support options are available via Business Tasmania 1800 440 026 or www.business.tas.gov.au
Please note that Rural Business Tasmania have made the business decision to support existing clients until the 30th June 2023 and will assist you to conclude current support and introduce you to other options of support that may be of assistance in the future.
