Christopher Bishop

Treasurer

Christopher Bishop became a Director of Rural Business Tasmania in January 2022. He was appointed Treasurer in January 2023 and is a Member of the Policy, Risk and Quality Assurance Committee and Chair of the Finance Committee. Before that he was CFO for an established and diversified Tasmanian service provider specialising in large civil infrastructure projects, residential and commercial construction and silica sand mining.
 
Christopher has over 40 years’ experience in accounting, audit and strategic business advisory gained from a 30 year career as Partner of a leading Tasmanian Chartered Accounting firm and later as a Business Services Advisor with Deloitte Private Pty Ltd. Christopher holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from the University of Tasmania and is a Fellow of CAANZ.
 
Currently Christopher is a Strategic Business Advisor specialising in strategic planning and implementation, economic analysis, business acquisition and divestment, mergers and demergers, business valuations, business turnaround, corporate governance, complex capital raisings and financial analysis. Christopher’s engagements extend to mid-market and large company groups with operations in CBD property investment, civil infrastructure development, multidisciplinary engineering, hospitality, omnichannel retailing and primary industry.
